This is an easy one---keep your customers and your employees happy. Sure, we could talk about increasing profit, reducing costs, better ROI, etc….but who makes up your business? Your customers buy your products or services and your employees make your products or are your services.
Know what your customers want. Find out what you do well and what you do not do so well (and maybe what your competition does well).
Keep your employees engaged. Find out what interests them and give them an opportunity to shine. Studies show that employee satisfaction and retention is only loosely linked to financial compensation. There is a stronger link to job satisfaction and a challenging environment. Keep this in mind when making decisions that will impact your staff.
