Too often when organizations talk about operational excellence, they focus on methodologies to improve processes, streamline operations, eliminate waste, and increase standardization. But these results are only sustainable if you assume that every customer and every employee is the same. Which of course is not true.
Operational excellence is a mindset. It’s not a destination or a methodology. The most successful organizations practice operational excellence on the front lines by realizing that it’s the ability of their front line people that make or break the company. They focus on strategies around growth and innovation and performance boosts.
